How to Plan Your Moroccan Adventure

Morocco has been on the top of my travel bucket list for a long time. The geographical and cultural intersection of Africa, Europe and the Middle East, the idea of Morocco has always thrilled me. I was endlessly charmed by imagining the chaotic marketplaces, the flurry of foreign languages being spoken, the call to prayer echoing from the minarets, getting lost in the Sahara desert, and just existing in a culture still so steeped in history, tradition, and superstition.

6 Months in Madrid: One Day, Everything’s Different

Objectively, I’ve always known that I was living the dream here in Madrid. My 4-day, 16-hour per week job is about as low-stress as it gets. On my short walk home from the metro to my apartment, I can pick up a bottle of wine, a fresh-baked baguette and a wedge of fabulous cheese without spending over 4 euros. I feasibly could visit a new country every single weekend should I so desire, and generally do travel 2 or 3 times per month. I spend 24/7 in the best possible classroom for learning a new language. I get to meet interesting people from all over the world.

Iceland Day Seven: Takk fyrir.

Our last full day in Iceland, we left Akureyri behind and headed back down south to Reykjavik.
Julia rode with us as far as Hvammstangi, and we returned her to the same spot we’d picked her up at two days previous, the Icelandic Seal Center. Along the two or three hour drive to her destination, Haider snoozed in the back seat while Julia and I shared some intimate conversations about love, relationships, priorities, and staying true to oneself. One of my favorite things about travel is how quickly you open yourself up to the new friends you meet along the way.
