Hey, we’re Cara and Haider!
We’re a married couple in our 30s currently living in Denver, CO. This blog was originally created to document our journey of moving to Spain and working as English teachers in 2015-2016. It was intended to record our experiences, keep friends and family in the loop, and inspire anyone who might be considering embarking on a similar adventure. Now we’re back to “real life” in the U.S., and the blog has fallen by the wayside — but we still love to travel, cherish the memories we’ve preserved here, and will be periodically updating it with new adventures.
Cara is the writer, and we both take photos with our Sony mirrorless camera. Everything on this blog is our original work, unless otherwise noted.
Cara works in marketing communications and Haider is a business analyst for Colorado’s state health insurance exchange. As a couple, we love traveling, hiking, camping, laughing, dancing, eating, drinking, and many other -ings we may have yet to discover. We’re interested in politics, history, cultures, economics, aesthetics, and generally learning as much as we can about the different places we visit and people we meet.

Thanks for sharing your adventures

Hey Cara!
I stumbled upon your blog today and I wanted to ask you if you’d be interested in doing an auxiliar interview for my blog, http://oregonianoverseas.com/
I was an auxiliar in Madrid for two years and now I’m back in the States. I love sharing other auxiliar stories to inspire people to travel and maybe even teach abroad!
Anyway, you can check out some of my other auxiliar interviews under the “Expat Interviews” tab. If you’d like to participate, let me know and I’ll send you the questions! I’d be more than happy to include links to your blog/social media as well. 🙂
Thanks so much,
Hilary Leslie
